Laying an outcome is the same as backing the other one, however the real odds at which you will be backing need to be recalculated. For example, laying an outcome at the odds of
4.50 is the same as backing the other outcome at 1.286. When you
load a betting exchange trade in the calculator both the BACK and LAY odds are
loaded. You can choose whether to go with BACK-ing a player or LAY-ing the
opponent..
Step 1: Check the betting exchange's BACK side. If
odds you need are not found there, check the LAY side of the opponent player -
it may well show you the odds that you see in the LAY odds field in the
calculator.
Step 2: Type in the amount to trade on LAY the way you would
type it in the exchange's betting slip.
Step 3: Click on Calculate.

- When using an exchange, it is highly recommended to start with the exchange odds and stake as the market there is much more volatile and odds are likely to change in a rapid manner.
- The calculator is designed to calculate odds and stakes depending on your current exchange Commission Rate. That is, if your current Commission Rate is
3.50%,
that is what you must have in the comm % field of the Betting
Exchange side of the trade.
- We recommend that you do not try to place the full available stake at exchange sites, especially if the closing time of the event is within less than 30 minutes. While the closing time is approaching exchange markets are rapidly moving and it is very likely other punters are attempting to take a part of the same available stake. For example, if you have an available stake of EUR 1000 and try to place a bet for the full amount, it may happen that only a part of it (e.g. EUR 600) is matched. The other EUR 400 will be displayed as an unmatched bet. At this point you may decide to cancel the unmatched offer and recalculate the surebet using only the matched stake, i.e. decrease the stake you're placing with the other bookmaker, based on the EUR 600 matched. In case you decide to leave the offer open, do refresh the other bookmaker's page to check whether the odds have changed and if you are still in a surebet situation.
